Frequently asked

How does rep counting work?

When time under tension is enabled for a set, Tension paces each rep by your chosen concentric and eccentric tempo and counts them aloud so you can keep your eyes off the screen. Counting plays through your Apple Watch speaker or any connected Bluetooth headphones.

Why don't I hear counting when my watch is muted?

Tension respects your watch's Silent Mode. With the watch muted and no headphones connected, counting is silenced on the speaker; connect Bluetooth headphones and you'll hear it there. Unmute the watch to hear counting on the speaker.

Do my workouts sync between my iPhone and Apple Watch?

Yes. As long as you're signed in to iCloud with Tension enabled, your workouts, exercises, and sets sync across your devices through your private iCloud.

How do I save workouts to Apple Health?

Grant Tension permission when prompted, or enable it in the Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health. Completed workouts are then written to Apple Health automatically.

How is my data handled?

Your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud — there are no accounts and no servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
