Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

The short version: Tension has no accounts and no servers of its own. Your workout data stays on your device and syncs only through your own private iCloud. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and your data is never sold or shared.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Tension app for iPhone and Apple Watch ("Tension", "the app", "we", "us"), published by Kevin Ray. If you have any questions, contact rushers_miler1d@icloud.com.

What data the app handles

Tension stores the workout information you create in the app, including:

Where your data lives

Your data is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud enabled for Tension, your data also syncs through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) to your other devices. This uses your own private iCloud database — we do not operate any server that receives, stores, or can access your data, and we cannot see it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Apple Health

If you grant permission, Tension can save completed workouts to Apple Health and read workout data from it to show alongside your history. This data is used only to provide those in-app features.

Tension does not use Health data for advertising or marketing, does not share it with any third party, and does not use it for any purpose other than the features you see in the app. You can review or revoke Health permissions at any time in the Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health.

Location

If you grant permission, Tension uses your location while you are using the app to suggest a relevant workout based on where you are. Location is used on your device for that feature and is not transmitted to us or to any third party. You can revoke location access at any time in the Settings app.

What we don't do

Data retention and deletion

Because your data is stored on your device and in your own iCloud, you are in control of it. To delete your data, delete the app from your device and remove its data from iCloud (Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage). Workouts written to Apple Health can be removed in the Health app.

Children's privacy

Tension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
